FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Two people are dead, and one was injured in a shooting southeast of downtown Fort Wayne Wednesday night.
The Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) says they had two separate crime scenes, with two people found dead in the 800 block of Buchanan Street near River Pointe Townhomes and the third victim found in a car at Hanna Street and Jefferson Boulevard.
Authorities have not arrested any suspects. No names have been released. The FWPD says there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The FWPD released the following:
On September 9, 2026, at approximately 8:57 p.m., the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to
reports of a shooting in the 800 block of Buchanan Street. Callers reported multiple shots fired and at least
two individuals struck.Upon arrival, officers located two victims who were unconscious. Medics were requested, and both victims
were pronounced deceased at the scene.Officers later located a third victim suffering from gunshot wound(s). Officers provided immediate first aid,
and medics transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment.Officers and detectives canvassed the area and collected evidence. The FWPD Homicide Team, Crime Scene
Unit, and Air Support Unit responded to assist and continue the investigation.This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County
Prosecutor’s Office, and the Coroner’s Office.Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call
