FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The City of Fort Wayne’s Public Works Division today announced that the closure of the East State Boulevard and Maplecrest Road intersection that was supposed to begin on July 5 will not happen.
The City says that due to the complexities of the work involved and traffic flow concerns, the work at the intersection will occur in 2024 with modifications that will allow for the intersection to remain open during the work.
The East State Boulevard concrete rehabilitation improvement project from Reed to Maplecrest roads started earlier this year and continues, according to the City.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – More construction is heading to the northeast part of Fort Wayne. This time, a road closure will be in place at East State Boulevard and Maplecrest Road.
The City says that beginning Wednesday, July 5, the concrete rehabilitation project from Reed to Maplecrest will require the intersection to be closed.
There will be a marked detour using Trier Road, Reed Road, Lake Avenue, and Maysville Road.
The intersection is expected to be back open on August 9.

The City of Fort Wayne’s Public Works Division today announced that beginning Wednesday, July 5, the intersection of East State Boulevard and Maplecrest Road will be closed to through traffic.
This closure is needed to complete a City of Fort Wayne transportation project – East State Boulevard concrete rehabilitation from Reed to Maplecrest roads.
Brooks Construction will be overseeing the work. Weather permitting, it’s anticipated that the intersection will be reopened by August 9.
Brooks Construction crews will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zone. There will be a marked detour using Trier Road, Reed Road, Lake Avenue, and Maysville Road.
This year, the City is investing a record $48.3 million in neighborhood infrastructure improvements. Since 2014, more than $250 million has been invested in neighborhood public works enhancements.
