
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Depsite lagging numbers throughout Indiana, Allen County’s public health boss says a lot of parents want to get their younger kids vaccinated.
Allen County Health Commissioner Matthew Sutter said on Wednesday that nearly 500 kids were vaccinated as of Monday.
He figures another 125 or so got their shots on Wednesday.
Indiana started offering the coronavirus vaccine to kids between five and eleven years old last week. Sutter said while demand is high now, he expects it to lessen over time.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Not a lot of parents are rushing to get their younger kids vaccinated against the coronavirus in Indiana.
The State Department of Health yesterday said just 6,500 vaccine doses were handed out to kids between five and 11-years-old last week.
That’s a little more than one percent of all eligible younger kids. Indiana’s vaccine clinics are busy, but doctors and nurses are handing out more boosters than first-time shots.
The state says it averaged about 18,000 shots per day last week.
