The identity of a woman killed in a crash Thursday at Dawkins Road and Ryan Road has been identified.
The Allen County Coroner says that Donna Danahey died in the crash. She was a passenger in a van that was hit by a semi that police say failed to yield to the stop sign.
On Friday (9-8-23), the following was released by the Allen County Coroner:
On Thursday, September 7th, 2023, the Allen County Coroner’s Office was notified of a semi-tractor-trailer-rig versus motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Dawkins Road at Ryan Road, in New Haven, Indiana. The injured person was a passenger in a transit van and was transported to a local hospital and was later pronounced deceased.
The person who was involved was identified as Donna M. Danahey, 86, female, White of New Haven, Indiana.
Notification has been made to the next of kin and an autopsy has been performed. The Cause of Death has been determined to be Multiple Blunt Force Injuries due to Motor Vehicle Crash and the Manner of Death is ruled an Accident.
Donna M. Danahey is the 29th traffic fatality for Allen County for 2023.
This incident is under investigation by the Allen County Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

ALLEN CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – A passenger who was in a van that crashed with a semi Thursday morning in Allen County has died.
Police say it appears the semi did not yield at the stop sign at Dawkins Road and Ryan Road and hit the van.
Both drivers are also hospitalized in fair condition. The crash happened around 10 a.m. east of New Haven. Police said last evening the passenger had died.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Department released the following:
On September 7, 2023, at approximately 9:50 A.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to Dawkins Road and Ryan Road, reference a personal injury crash involving two motor vehicles.
Upon arrival, officers and medics located a semi tractor trailer and a van that were involved in the crash. A preliminary investigation indicated the semi tractor trailer was southbound on Ryan Road and struck the van, which was eastbound on Dawkins Road.
The adult female driver of the van was transported to a local hospital in fair condition. The adult female passenger of the van was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The adult male driver of the semi tractor trailer was transported to a local hospital in fair condition.
