FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Traffic Engineering Department says that a portion of a main thoroughfare in downtown Fort Wayne will close soon for almost two months.
Starting Thursday (August 31), Harrison Street will be closed to through traffic between Main and Superior streets.
The closure is for a City of Fort Wayne Community Development project. Weather permitting, crews expect the work to be done by Oct. 27, according to the Fort Wayne Traffic Engineering Department.
There will be a marked detour using Main, Calhoun and Superior streets.
The Fort Wayne Traffic Engineering Department released the following:
Please be advised that beginning Thursday August 31, 2023 northbound Harrison Street will be closed to through traffic between Main Street and Superior Street.
This closure is necessary for a City of Fort Wayne Community Development project.
Crosby Excavating will be performing the work and weather permitting is anticipating it will be completed by Friday October 27, 2023.
Crosby crews will be responsible for the placement and maintenance of all construction signs and barricades in the work zone. There will be a marked detour using Main Street, Calhoun Street, and Superior Street.
