FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Police Department says it is investigating a robbery and then a shooting that both happened Thursday morning around the same time.
FWPD officials say that around 9:25 a.m., officers responded to the 1400 block of Greene Street for the reported robbery.
Once there, they learned that an adult male arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound. He was listed as having non-life-threatening injuries.
The FWPD said investigators are speaking with witnesses and persons of interest in order to obtain more information.
The FWPD did not explain how the shooting and the robbery were connected.

On Thursday February 9, 2023 at approximately 9:25 AM officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 1400 block of Greene Street in reference to a robbery investigation.
While officers were responding to the scene, they received information that a male adult arrived at a local hospital suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The male was listed with non-life threatening injuries. Investigators are currently speaking with witnesses to obtain additional information. Additionally, investigators are interviewing persons of interest to try and determine what actually occurred. This investigation is an ongoing investigation and there are no other details at this time.
